Guitar virtuoso Tim Reynolds goes back decades with Houston and Michael in Charlottesville. Houston performing and recording with Tim in TR3 and Soko in addition to concertizing with Cosmology andThe Cosmonauts. Mike and Tim are great friends who have played together in The Offering and as a duo. Their CD or piano/guitar improvisations, Common Margins is Breezeway Records' most popular downloaded recording and is Michael's favorite of his own records (other than Sokoband, of course). Houston and Mike have opened for Tim on a few occasions and can attest to the fact that Tim Reynolds' audiences are the best. For the current project, Tim joins two other guitarists -- Steve Kimock and John Zias -- on Jiriki, comping and playing slide on steel-string acoustic. He also lends otherworldly electric guitar to "Joy of Love" from Soko:Two.
Tim has recorded prolifically as a solo artist and leader of TR3, although he is perhaps better known for his work as collaborator with Dave Matthews on "Dave & Tim" concerts and as studio and road guitarist for Dave Matthews band and Dave Matthews & Friends. He's also a longtime improvising partner of composer and Chapman Stick expert, Greg Howard as "Sticks & Stones." Tim was a member of John D'Earth and Dawn Thompson's Vanguard ensemble, Cosmology, and he has partnered with Willie Nelson, Jorma Kaukonen, and Marcus Eaton. Among others, he has performed and recorded with Secrets, Tulku, SeepeopleS and the Red Hot Smoothies.
